THE COLLECTIVE WORSHIP RESOURCE - for Spring Term 2010Exams = stress or opportunity |
COLLECTIVE WORSHIP REFLECTIONS Summer 2009
TITLE Exams = stress or opportunity?
A series of five reflections for use in worship during the season of GCSE / A Level exams.
They are presented as a series of resources for you to adapt and use in a way which best answers needs in your school or college.
The reflections are:
1. Do your best; don’t give up.
2. If exams are hard for you, think of what you are good at doing too. Build on the whole ‘you’.
3. What you do now is important; remember it’s one stage of life.
4. If you’ve got regrets for not working harder – learn from it.
5. If there’s too much to remember, focus on what’s important.
Each reflection has:
a. Examples of people whose lives have reflected something of the theme.
b. Website references to give further information on the lives of the people listed .
c. A Bible reference to use as a further illustration of encouragement.
d. A short reflection.
You can make your own choice of music to use with these reflections.
The format is deliberately flexible:
• The resources can be used with little preparation; or if you have time and the appropriate whiteboard / digital projector facilities you might download pictures of the people listed and use them as a focus.
• They could also be used either with a tutor group or a larger gathering.
